EastWest Voices of the Empire

Bottom Line:
Voices of the Empire is an intimate and beautifully recorded phrase library perfectly suited to film, TV and multimedia production scoring

Sonuscore Origins – 12 String and Balalaika
$79 USD
Bottom Line:
Sonuscore’s 12-String and Balalaika is a distinctive and flexible instrument with gorgeous effects and a rhythm section that elevate the already well-paired duo
Spitfire Audio Hans Zimmer strings
$799 USD
Bottom Line:
There may be a couple of artistic decisions causing potholes in the road, but Hans Zimmer Strings ultimately is a tour de force
Native Instruments Electric Sunburst
$99 USD
Bottom Line:
For the first time, I can comfortably say there is a sampled electric guitar instrument now that sounds equal, if not somewhat better than the original
PSP Audioware 2445 Digital ReverbBottom Line:
2445 is a great-sounding and well-designed plate reverb. The controls are as you should expect, and though there is plenty of room for customising the device there’s nothing too complicated about the workflow
Unfiltered Audio Zip
$149 USD
Original Review January, 2018
Bottom Line
Zip is a predictable compressor that turns into an unpredictable plaything when needed. In a mixing environment where precision is what you look for, sometimes a little crazy is what you need, particularly if you’re finding your mixes are a little flat and lifeless
Softube Trident A-RangeBottom Line:>
The Trident A-Range is the EQ you bring in to sweeten the mix, to add your mojo or whatever term you like to use. There are a lot of plugins on the market that will promise this, but few offer with such a simple workflow and authentic testimonial from the original builder – and for once I’m willing to believe something I’ve read on the Internet
PSP Audioware Nexcellence
Original review poster October, 2017
Bottom Line:
PSP Audioware has an excellent reputation for producing high-quality processors, and though this might be a little more specialised than your standard bread and butter verb effects, its certainly brings mojo and character that is difficult to find elsewhere
Impact Soundworks Shreddage 2
Original review posted October, 2017
Bottom Line:
As an addition to, or total replacement for your actual guitar recordings, Shreddage 2 is a massive step up over anything that came before it. It is a complicated instrument to perform authentic parts with, so don’t go in thinking this is a quick fix – but the end results are well, well worth the time and effort
Spitfire Audio Hans Zimmer Percussion
Once more, a masterpiece from Spitfire Audio and another required purchase for digital composers. There is quite simply nothing even close out there for variety, detail and sound quality
