Driving, gritty guitars and sharp grooves is what ‘Undercut’ do.
‘Take The Wheel’ is all about taking back control and it’s the first of a string of releases to come. This is the lead single from their just-released self-titled 4 track EP. Undercut’s style is raw and punchy while lyrically they tackle real life dilemmas.
Undercut may be a newly formed band, but between the members Mike Crowhen, John Hancock and Dave Crowhen they are an integrated part of the Auckland music scene, performing with about 12 bands between them. It’s easy to see why they describe themselves as ‘veterans’, as Undercut’s experience and musicianship is clear from their live performances and the quality of this EP.
Reforming from their 90’s industrial band Seat Bee Sate, their sound harks from their Grunge, indie rock and metal influences.
“Playing in a band is partly about being in the moment, so we are not projecting into the future too much – we just want people to enjoy and hopefully connect with any of all of the songs that this EP showcases”
