D16 Group announce Lush 2 analogue-modelled synth

D16 Group Audio Software is proud to present a long-awaited update to its celebrated Lush synthesizer instrument.

Offering endless possibilities, it will be both familiar and inspiring to fans of analogue-modelled synthesizers. Lush 2 isn’t a straight recreation, but it’s built from modules based on many modern virtual synths; they’re combined into one compact, flexible layout that’s designed for ease of use and maximum creativity. It offers carefully modelled oscillators combined into an intuitive workflow that we hope will become your next go-to soft synth.

For D16, synthesizers aren’t just a business, they’re a passion – which is why countless hours were spent analyzing classic analogue synthesizers and carefully modelling them on a component level. This is a more elaborate process than approximating an overall output but when you know your software has been so carefully crafted, you can have far greater confidence in your sound. The interface has also been designed in a way where analogue synth fans will quickly find their way around.

Lush 2 is designed for digital accuracy with an analogue feel, sounding just like a hardware analogue synth. Great care has been taken to ensure that there is no aliasing in the oscillators, even with the most challenging overtones, and also to ensure that vibrato and pitch bend timbre are authentic and uncompromised. Equal attention has been paid to the filters, offering a constant resonance across the entire frequency range to mirror the behavior of the hardware counterparts that inspired it.

Multilayer architecture lets you route up to 8 different sounds into one, producing a complex layered sound from just one instance of a plug-in. Flexible MIDI routing lets you assign these layers to different keyboard sections, producing sounds that evolve and adapt across different tonal ranges. You can add two insert effects from a choice of eight for each layer, before applying layerindependent EQ and ompression in the mixer and adding send effects. This modular mixing means you can tailor the sound of each layer to complement each other and fit perfectly in the mix.

As well as authentic sound generation, Lush 2 helps you find creative ways to express and combine your sounds. It offers a unique arpeggiator complete with presets to help you add rhythm and texture, and a modulation matrix to turn your sounds into a complex ecosystem of music. The two insert effects range from subtle to sabotage, and the three send effects help to put the finishing touches on your soundstage with delay, chorus or reverb.

In short, Lush 2 will feel comfortable to any hardware synthesizer fan, while offering new options to inspire. Thanks to over a thousand presets, it can sound good out of the box, but also offers control and tweakability to quickly take you to new territory. Lush 2 is a formidable multilayered synth in a convenient package!
