The all-new series blends innovation, playability, and accessibility for the modern creator.
Yamaha has introduced the all-new MODX M synthesizer lineup, a midrange series that brings the expressive power and premium sound of the company’s flagship MONTAGE M to a broader range of musicians. Compact, lightweight, and built for performance, the MODX M aims to deliver professional-grade sound and workflow at an accessible price point.

Building on the acclaimed MONTAGE M platform, MODX M integrates three advanced sound engines:
- AN-X for authentic analog-style warmth and character
- FM-X for dynamic digital synthesis and evolving textures
- AWM2 for ultra-realistic acoustic and sampled instrument sounds
Developed with direct input from musicians around the world, MODX M is designed for both stage and studio use, emphasizing expressive control, portability, and ease of use.
Three Models for Every Musician
The MODX M series comes in three key configurations, tailored for different playing styles:
- MODX M6 – 61-key semi-weighted keyboard for synthesists (MSRP $2,199.00)
- MODX M7 – 76-key semi-weighted keyboard for versatile performers (MSRP $2,499.00)
- MODX M8 – 88-key graded hammer-action keyboard for pianists (MSRP $3,099.00)
Each model includes eight physical faders, a Super Knob for multi-parameter modulation, and high-resolution control across all user interfaces for deep performance control.

Expanded Softsynth Plugin (ESP)
As an added benefit, all registered MODX M owners will receive the Expanded Softsynth Plugin (ESP), a fully featured virtual version of the MODX M that integrates directly with any major DAW. The ESP plugin, available early 2026, allows users to create, edit, and manage performances seamlessly between hardware and software environments.
The Yamaha MODX M series underscores the company’s ongoing commitment to innovation, accessibility, and musicianship—offering professional tools that inspire creativity anywhere music is made.
