Steinberg has announced the release of Cubase 15, the latest generation of its renowned music production software. Featuring powerful new tools for sound design, composition, and workflow efficiency, Cubase 15 sets a new reference standard for modern music creation.

Designed for musicians, producers, and composers of every level, Cubase 15 is available in Pro, Artist, and Elements editions. Each version delivers the same intuitive interface and fast workflow that Cubase is known for, tailored to suit different creative needs and budgets.

New Ways to Create and Shape Sound

Cubase 15 introduces several major updates focused on creative freedom and realism. The redesigned Expression Maps system delivers next-generation articulation control with deeper integration into both the Key and Score Editors. Attack compensation per articulation adds greater natural feel when performing virtual instruments.

The updated Pattern Editor transforms melodic creation with a new sequencer capable of both monophonic and polyphonic patterns. It supports step input, custom scales, randomization, and new shape generators, with genre-ready presets for bass lines, leads, chords, and arpeggios.

The Modulators suite has also been expanded with six new options, including Random Generator, Sample & Hold, and Wavefold LFO. Combined with 30 fresh Chord Pad presets across multiple genres, Cubase 15 makes it easier than ever to spark new ideas.

Work Smarter, Not Harder

Cubase 15 continues to streamline the production process, ensuring that inspiration takes center stage. A redesigned Hub makes project setup faster with audio configuration, project previews, and enhanced search tools.

Cross-platform collaboration is easier than ever with expanded support for the DAWproject format, allowing users to exchange sessions across Cubase, Cubasis, and compatible DAWs while preserving all key project data.

AI-powered stem separation introduces new possibilities for remixing and creative sampling, while refined automation tools make editing fast and visual. Volume and pan can now be added directly to the Track Controls Area, and per-track layout customization enhances mix clarity.

When it’s time to export, new quick render options make bouncing and previewing tracks almost instant.

Enhanced Instruments and Effects

Steinberg’s legendary VST instruments and plug-ins get a major update in Cubase 15. The Cubase Drum Machine adds 40 modern drum kits ready for hip hop, trap, and electronic genres, while the redesigned Groove Agent SE 6 includes a scalable UI, new mixer, and enhanced effects.

Songwriters will appreciate the Writing Room Synths collection, packed with production-ready vintage synth tones and lush presets. Meanwhile, the new Omnivocal vocal synthesis engine (beta) brings expressive human-like vocals powered by Yamaha’s advanced synthesis technology.

For mixing and mastering, UltraShaper delivers transient shaping, limiting, and EQ sculpting in one precise tool. The PitchShifter effect adds real-time pitch control across ±24 semitones with formant preservation, saturation, and stereo unlinking. All stock plug-ins now feature scalable interfaces for clean visuals on any screen size.

Subtle Improvements, Big Impact

Additional refinements make Cubase 15 feel even smoother in daily use. These include an updated Score Editor with faster workflows, instant sample swapping in the Sampler Track, native macOS full-screen mode, and pinch-to-zoom support.

Matthias Quellmann, Senior Marketing Manager at Steinberg, commented:

“We worked closely with our community to refine what matters most, turning valuable feedback into meaningful improvements. Cubase 15 feels like the perfect evolution — familiar yet more powerful than ever.”
