SCHOEPS is expanding its Desert Island Set range with the new Desert Island Boom Set, a compact modular microphone kit designed to cover both indoor dialogue recording and outdoor location work.

At the heart of the system is the CMC 1 U microphone amplifier, supplied with both the MK 41 supercardioid capsule and the KMIT shotgun capsule. The complete setup comes in a robust Pelican Case, with the capsules finished in the KMIT’s distinctive blue.

One amplifier, two recording scenarios

The Desert Island Boom Set is designed around the practical needs of boom operators who regularly move between controlled indoor environments and more demanding outdoor locations.

For interior recording, the MK 41 provides a controlled pickup pattern and natural sound character suited to dialogue. When working outdoors, the KMIT shotgun capsule offers greater directivity, helping the operator focus on the intended sound source while reducing unwanted ambient noise.

The modular design means operators can switch between the two capsules in seconds, using a single CMC 1 U amplifier body for both applications.
