R’n’B sensation August Alsina to play one night in Auckland

R’n’B heartthrob August Alsina will play his first-ever New Zealand show this April.

Presented by Pato Entertainment and Talk Later, the Def Jam Recordings prodigy will perform at the Logan Campbell Centre in Auckland on Friday, April 13.

He will be supported by Donell LewisKennyon Brown and DJ Noiz.

Born and bred in New Orleans, August Alsina is following in the footsteps of the city’s legends who paved the way. After a set of personal setbacks and a series of YouTube covers that generated millions of views, he signed with Def Jam Recordings in 2007 and released 2014’s TESTIMONY, which debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200.

The album featured hit singles ‘I Luv This Shit’, feat. Trinidad James and ‘No Love’, feat.Nicki Minaj. The same year, Alsina was named ‘Best New Artist’ at the BET Awards

“This is a gratifying second step from one of the most exciting contemporary R&B artists to appear during the 2010s”
– AllMusic“On this striking album Alsina is a ruminative, no-holds-barred songwriter, and his tormented upbringing provides most of the lyrical grist”
–
New York Times
Alsina’s next album, 2015’s THIS THING CALLED LIFE also debuted in the Top 20 and featured the hit ‘Hip Hop’.

With a lifetime of experiences behind him, and living proof that your past does not dictate your future, Alsina is without doubt one of the most exciting acts in R’n’B right now.

Don’t miss your chance to see him live in New Zealand for the first time.

Tickets on sale from HERE – Thursday, March 1 at 7.00pm.
