Harrison Audio has announced LiveTrax 3, the latest version of its live performance recording and virtual soundcheck software. The new release adds full integration with DiGiCo consoles, joining existing support for Allen & Heath and Solid State Logic’s SSL Live platforms.

Designed for reliable multitrack recording and efficient virtual soundchecks, LiveTrax 3 aims to simplify the technical side of live capture while reducing setup time for tours, festivals and event productions.

Built for live recording

LiveTrax 3 introduces an all-new Session Creation feature that allows users to create sessions directly from a supported DiGiCo console. Track names and track order are automatically aligned between the console and LiveTrax, reducing the amount of manual setup required before recording.

The software focuses on the tools that are most useful in a live environment, rather than attempting to replicate a full studio DAW.

A practical toolkit for live engineers

LiveTrax 3 includes a real-time Spectral Analyzer and phase correlation meter across all tracks, providing visual feedback on frequency response and phase relationships. Input monitoring has also been streamlined, with a dedicated monitor button available on every track.

The software’s marker system provides another useful addition for live production. When a console Snapshot is triggered, LiveTrax can automatically insert a marker using the Snapshot name. During virtual soundcheck playback, triggering the same Snapshot can then jump playback directly to the corresponding marker.

For engineers working from different positions around a venue or production area, the resizable Big Clock and dedicated Meterbridge provide a quick way to confirm that recording is running. LiveTrax also keeps key system information visible, including CPU usage, disk activity and remaining recording time.

Storage efficiency has also been considered. LiveTrax 3 can record directly to FLAC, which Harrison says can save up to 50 percent of the disk space required by WAV files.

For streaming applications, a dedicated stereo output provides another way to incorporate LiveTrax into a live production workflow.
